One question we hear quite often is how to cloth diaper very small babies. Newborns and preemies can be a challenge when cloth diapering because they are so tiny and thin, it's hard to get a good "seal" around legs and waist. This can be frustrating for new parents during those first couple of months, but investing in a lot of tiny sized diapers that will be outgrown so quickly can seem like a waste of money. Speaking from personal & professional experience a great solution is Happy Heinys Mini One Size. We hope everyone had a safe & happy new year. In just one year we've seen a tremendous change in eco-friendly options. We're looking forward to 2009 being even better! We will continue to increase our offering of the wonderful, safe and green products our customers have come to love. Many new things are on their way!

The start of a new year is a great time to live greener. Here are some of our tips on green living for 2009:

- Re-use & recycle! Everyone's heard that shopping with re-usable bags is a good idea, but don't forget other throwaway item replacements. Use aluminum foil and pyrex containers for storage instead of cling wrap and plastic baggies. Try glass straws instead of the tossable plastic ones. Glass straws are tempered to be strong, dishwasher safe and easy to take in a purse or bag.

- Ditch the chemical-laden, toxic smelling cleaning products for ones that are safe for people and the environment. Love the cleaning power of vinegar, but hate the smell? Try Parsley Plus - made of purified water, coconut and parsley, it cleans surfaces and leaves a fresh, salad-like smell. Many people are very careful about chemical free feeding items, but what are they using to wash them? Try a dishwashing detergent that is phosphate, petrochemical & chlorine free. Our Ecos Wave is free of all these things as well as biodegradable.

- Make your other bags green too. Choose a purse, tote or diaper bag that is organic and/or made from recycled materials.

- For greener kids rooms, start with the basics: no VOC paint, alternatives to traditional chemical-filled carpets like wood or natural rugs and organic bedding. Make sure any feeding or teething items are free of BPA and phthalates like the ones you can find here.

Cutie of the Month - December

This month's cutie is doing double duty. It was too tough to decide which pic to use because they were both so cute, so we're showing off both! This sweet little guy is one of our store regulars and is our Cutie of the Month. He & his mom have tried out their fair share of our merchandise and done some great in-the-field kid testing.
